Elementary Education

Teaching is more than a job — it’s a calling to mentor, motivate, instruct and inspire a love of learning in tomorrow’s leaders. If you are looking to get your start in this rewarding profession, then look no further than Peru State College — Nebraska’s first college, established as a teacher training school in 1867.

Early Childhood Education

A bachelor’s in early childhood education equips students with the foundational skills to effectively interact with a diverse group of children and assist them in their growth and development. This degree combines an understanding of human development and family systems with skills that prepare students for child-oriented professions.

Theatre Arts Education

This degree program is geared for the person who wishes to teach theatre arts in a secondary school where the focus of teaching responsibilities is primarily theatre classes. Different than a language arts education degree, this program can lead to a supplemental endorsement in secondary theatre education when combined with a primary area endorsement.

Physical Education

Admission into the Education Department and additional Education Departmental coursework is required. This subject endorsement is designed to prepare students for the teaching profession in Physical Education. With the addition of approximately 37 hours of education requirements, the student will be eligible for a Nebraska Teaching Certificate.
