Education Specialist

Doane's Education Specialist Degree program, an advanced academic degree, prepares candidates to be leaders at the organization or systems levels of school districts, social service agencies, not-for-profit organizations, and other organizations engaged in the service of others.

Completion of the Ed.S. program leads to Nebraska administrative certification as a superintendent or to other district-level leadership positions requiring certification beyond the principalship.

School Counseling

The mission of the Master of Education in School Counseling program is to prepare students to become highly competent school counselors with the skills to implement a comprehensive school counseling program in a school setting serving the needs and goals of all students.

Through a series of coursework, practicum and internship experiences, candidates will qualify for a Nebraska School Counseling Endorsement.

Educational Leadership

The mission of the Doane Educational Leadership Degree Program is to develop servant leaders who are scholarly practitioners leading in school settings for the good of students and colleagues, regardless of position. A minimum of thirty-six credit hours of educational graduate coursework are required. Students begin the program in the summer and move through the program as part of a Cadre. If a student is seeking PK-12 certification, a 45-credit-hour program is required.

Curriculum and Instruction

The Masters in Education (M.Ed.) program is committed to giving special attention to the needs of K-12 educators. Doane launched its Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program more than 40 years ago, based on input from teachers and school districts. We continuously advance the program, and include the same crucial input.
