Education Specialist Certification

Completing the online Ed.S. degree in school administration from Wayne State College may certify you to work as a school administrator at any level in in a P-12 school system.
The Nebraska Department of Education requires successful completion of the Praxis II School Superintendent Assessment. Our program of study is designed to prepare you for such a test, but your performance may depend on many issues beyond the control of our department, including prior educational knowledge, teaching and administrative experiences, test-taking skills, and your retention of course material.

Early Childhood Special Education

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Program prepares students to support excellent outcomes for young children birth to age 5 with special needs and their families. Our program is open to full- or part-time students and is offered entirely online.

Apply to the graduate certificate program in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) to learn instructional strategies for teaching English, deepen your knowledge of how languages are acquired, explore English linguistics, develop a professional identity as a language teacher, and engage in conversations around important issues in TESOL.

Mathematics Education

The Graduate Certificate in Mathematics Education is offered in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education and is a 15-hour certificate program attends to preparing leaders in mathematics education by providing continued professional development education to teachers of mathematics (PK-16) with more focused attention on mathematics pedagogical content knowledge in grades 4-16.

K-3 Mathematics Specialist

This certificate is intended for elementary teachers who are interested in further developing their instructional strategies and mathematics content knowledge to meet the needs of each and every student in their classrooms.

All courses are taught on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus, online, or at sites mutually agreed upon by the Departments of Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education and Mathematics.
