Early Childhood Education (PK-3)

Middle Level Education and Secondary Education Levels

Are you ready to take on the world of junior high and the surrounding grades? This world will be filled with adolescents – an exciting yet sometimes scary time for pre-teens and teens. But as a teacher, you’ll be there to be a positive influence in their lives. With the Middle Level Education endorsement, you’ll be qualified to teach grades 5-9. You’ll get a variety of students and ages, all looking to you to guide them through this phase in life. World Language-Spanish (6-12)

Persons with this endorsement may teach Spanish at grade levels 6-12.

Certification Endorsement Requirements: This endorsement requires a minimum of 30 semester hours in the world language for either the K-8 or 7-12 endorsement. Those candidates seeking a K-12 endorsement must complete course work and clinical experiences which address elementary and secondary levels.

Elementary Education Degree (Grades K-6)

Become an elementary or middle school teacher with the Elementary Education degree from Wayne State College. Teaching is a rewarding career, and the Elementary Education K-6 endorsement covers the widest variety of ages. This track will focus you on kindergarten-aged children up through the junior high level. Accelerated Special Education Program

The Accelerated Special Education Program (AC-SEP) at UNO is a teacher certification pathway for individuals with a baccalaureate degree or higher who wish to earn an Initial Teaching Certificate issued by the Nebraska Department of Education to teach special education.

This program is designed to be completed in two years. Students who successfully complete the qualifications of the Accelerated Special Education Program will be eligible for Nebraska certification in special education.

B.S.Ed. - Special Education
