Early Childhood Education

You can have a meaningful impact on the future through your work with young children. Our Early Childhood Education program prepares you to teach children and strengthen families in various early care and educational settings. You will create and teach in learning environments where children grow into self-confident, socially adept individuals who can succeed in today’s rapidly changing world.

Early Childhood Education

Working with children and infants is a challenging career with great rewards. Our program will prepare you to work in child care centers, preschool settings, Head Start, before-and-after-school programs, family home care, and as classroom aides and nannies. You will learn in real childcare settings from experienced professionals. We also have an active student organization and have helped in providing child care activities during special events.

Early Childhood Education

The need for quality early childhood educators is at an all-time high. At McCook Community College you will gain the skills and understanding necessary to support children and families as they pass through the early years of development.

A faculty advisor helps students personalize their program of study as they work toward certificates, diplomas and transfer degrees with a focus on hands-on experiences in the on-campus Child Development Center. Through real experiences with children, students develop the confidence and work experience necessary to excel.
