Physical therapists (PTs) aid patients in recovering from injuries, illnesses, or disabilities affecting movement and function. They assess conditions, create treatment plans, and use exercises, stretches, manual therapy, and equipment to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function. Working with all ages, PTs operate in hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, and even homes, offering tailored care to improve quality of life. Learn more about this career.

The majority of students entering PT school have a baccalaureate degree; therefore, students are expected to choose a major so they can work towards a bachelor’s degree concurrently with the pre-physical therapy program. UNK’s pre-physical therapy program will meet the admissions requirements for Creighton University and the University of Nebraska Medical Center at the Omaha or Kearney campus.
