The Nebraska Farm to School program enriches the connection communities have with fresh, healthy food and local food producers by changing food purchasing and education practices at schools and early care and education settings.
There are three core elements of Farm to School: Procurement, Education, and School Gardens. Farm to School works to provide resources to promote local Nebraska grown and raised products in the classroom, cafeteria, and community.
Join us for the Nebraska Farm to School Summit at the Holiday Inn Kearney (110 2nd Ave Kearney, NE 68847) on October 17-18, 2024. The conference will begin at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 17, and conclude at 2 PM on Friday, October 18. Registration includes dinner on Thursday and breakfast and lunch on Friday.
All farm to school stakeholders are welcome! This includes farmers and producers, school food service staff, educators, school administrators, early care and education providers, community members, local agency representatives, non-profits, and more! Convene with other farm to school stakeholders from across the state to share, learn, and collaborate.
At the event, we will launch our statewide Nebraska Farm to School Network and walk you through resources to stay connected with Farm to School year-round. The agenda is complete with keynote speakers, breakout sessions for deeper dives into Farm to School concepts, and plenty of opportunities for networking. This summit will give you the resources, support, and connections you need to make your life easier.
